Profile:
Oscar Mauricio Valencia-Arana studied economics at the National University of Colombia, where he also obtained a masters degree in economics. He then pursued graduate studies in mathematical economics at the Toulouse School of Economics (TSE), where he obtained a PhD in economics. He is currently a junior researcher at macroeconomics modeling department at the Banco de la República. Research topics are related to macroeconomic policy, incentive theory and economic growth. During his career he has served as a macroeconomic policy advisor to the Ministry of Finance, also as researcher to the Department of Economic Studies of the National Planning Department and consultant to the Research Department of the Inter-American Development Bank.
