Ligia Melo is an economist from Universidad Pedagógica y tecnológica de Colombia. She obtained an MSc in Economics from Universidad de los Andes and an MSC from Warwick University (UK). She received a PhD in Economics from Sussex University (UK). Currently she is a Senior Research Economist at the Banco de la República (Colombia). Her research has focused, especially on the area of public finances, education and economic efficiency. She is the author of several papers published in national and international books and journals.
