Economist and M.Sc. in Economics from Universidad Nacional de Colombia, M.A. in Economics and Ph.D. in Economics from University of Connecticut. She has worked at Universidad de Antioquia, Universidad del Valle, University of Connecticut, and Universidad Nacional de Colombia. Also, she has published in prestigious journals such as Journal of Development Economics, Journal of Institutional Economics and International Tax and Public Finance. She was the Editor-in-Chief of the journal Lecturas de Economía during the 2011-2019 period, and since 2011 she has been the Editor of the weekly report New Economics Papers on Informal and Underground Economics (NEP-IUE). She is currently a Senior Economist at Banco de la República. Her research areas are macroeconomics, public economics, and development economics.
